In October of 2020, the Sustainability Advisory Council (SAC) began the task of developing recommendations for the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (VCFA) on how to advance sustainability and resilience at UW–Madison. At the same time, the UW–Madison community was invited to join in a first round of listening sessions to inform the SAC’s work.
The SAC has been incorporating feedback from those listening sessions into its discussions of sustainability opportunities within four categories: Academics, Engagement, Operations, and Planning & Administration. These four categories were derived from UW–Madison’s recent Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) report.
The SAC is now looking for additional feedback. There will be a second round of virtual listening sessions on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 18th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
- Tuesday, March 23rd from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
- Thursday, March 25th from 7:00pm to 8:00pm (current UW-Madison graduate and undergraduate students only)
At these sessions, participants will get an opportunity to review and provide feedback on the SAC’s initial sustainability recommendations for the Provost and VCFA.
All members of campus and the community are welcome to join the listening sessions, with the exception of a single date (March 25) that will be for UW–Madison students only. You can register for listening sessions here.
