Tracy Harvey

Tracy Harvey is a doctoral student in the Environment & Resources program at the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies with a focus on sustainability in business and higher education institutions. As a project assistant at the Office of Sustainability, she conducts research on sustainable institutions and supports various projects within the office.

At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Tracy worked on water quality at the Great Lakes Water Institute as an undergraduate research assistant. She then went on to investigate the effects of oil spills on the environment as part of the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative during her master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Her interest in organizational sustainability began during her time at Green Seal, a third party ecolabel organization, where she worked with companies to satisfy sustainability standards from chemical formulas, packaging, marketing, and product design.

Tracy enjoys spending time outdoors (when it’s above 20 degrees), painting, and frequenting the many excellent restaurants Madison has to offer.
