Badgers kick-off Homecoming with community service

by Katie Herrmann

Happy Homecoming, everyone! We are starting out the week with our Community Service Day event. With the help of the UW Homecoming Committee, we’ve expanded the annual service event to include more volunteer opportunities in our community.

Students will volunteer on Sunday, October 19 at sites around the Madison community including the Lakeshore Nature Preserve, the UW Arboretum, the Literacy Run and the UW–Madison campus. Click here to volunteer!

So far,  over 120 students have signed up to participate in the event. Our goal is to exceed the number of volunteers we had last year by engaging over 250 students in Community Service Day.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on October 19. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up in advance, but walk-ins are still welcome.  All volunteers who sign up in advance will be given a free Red Shirt.

Volunteers should meet at the Wisconsin Alumni Association. Visit the volunteer sign-up page for more information.
