Kim supports the Environmental Sustainability Scholars Program and teaches classes focused on sustainability, systems thinking, and community engagement.
She has been in the field of education for over 25 years and has been an educator for learners of all ages. While living in the Pacific Northwest, she taught high school oceanography and biology. In the Midwest, Kim taught high school science as well as outdoor place-based education and sustainability education for adult learners. In addition, she worked with nonprofit organizations as an education director, an outdoor educator, and a sustainability education consultant.
Kim received her Ed.D. in Sustainability Education degree from UW-Stevens Point (UWSP). Her doctoral program centered on sustainability and environmental literacy, social justice, and systems thinking. Kim also completed her Equity and Inclusion in Education Graduate Certificate from UWSP.
Prior to joining the Office of Sustainability, she was teaching for Madison College and was also a mentor and adjunct instructor for UW-Madison graduate students in the School of Education.
