Anne Lamppa

Student Programs Director

Anne Lamppa directs the Student Intern Program.  Students can apply to work during the academic year and/or for a 10-week summer program. Teams of interns currently are working in a Green Office Certification Program and on a Waste and Recycling Program. Both focus on research, education and training to help implement sustainable practices in campus workplaces.

Anne Lamppa also directs the Green Fund Program, working with the Green Fund Program manager Ian Aley and with interim co-director of the Office of Sustainability Rob Lamppa.  The Green Fund supports student-initiated projects on campus that lower campus energy use and enable those on campus to be better stewards of our resources.  Before launching their projects, students collaborate with campus workers who possess the needed expertise to make their projects successful.

Before joining the Office of Sustainability, Anne worked in the UW–Madison Dean of Students Office as the assistant director of student assistance. Prior to UW–Madison, Anne worked at Carleton College, Oberlin College and the University of Maine-Farmington. In these positions, Anne was responsible for developing, implementing, and directing several campus-wide student programs; teaching college level reading to first-year students; and developing and teaching a course for students who were on academic probation. Anne is a licensed public-school teacher and was a classroom teacher for the first part of her career.
